The role holder is responsible for GL accounting, investment accounting, reporting and audit activities for the composite insurance business, both Life and Gl Business, to ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards (FRSs), regulations, policies and guidelines in all of finance processes and outputs
Primarily responsible for MAS Reporting and Head Office Reporting
Responsible for tax reporting, including GST, corporate tax, WHT, etc.
Serve as finance owner and internal trainer for Chart of Accounts (COA) and Oracle Financial System to ensure appropriate accounting & reporting rules from core policy systems to Oracle
Ensure the integrity of accounting & financial data used for all reporting requirements
Ensure reporting accuracy, completeness, timelines and controls
Provide insightful P&L and B/S analysis and forecast to support financial analysis and business decision making
Review and implement ongoing Oracle Financial System enhancements and controls over accounting and reporting processes
Support product development & business initiatives to ensure proper accounting and reporting
Ensure all reporting processes are documented and kept up-to- date
Actively plan and manage the monthly reporting by coordinating with various departments concerned
Actively participate in RBC2, IFRS 9 & IFRS 17 preparation
Evaluate the impact of developments in the financial reporting, tax and regulatory regime and recommend a course of action to ensure compliance
Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or Business
Qualified accountant with 5-8 years working experience in the reporting function from life insurance, Gl insurance or audit experience with insurance focus from Big 4 accounting firms
Good understanding of insurance products and finance dynamics
Working knowledge of insurance accounting & reporting in Singapore
Experienced in investment accounting and tax reporting
Analytical and meticulous with eyes for details
Self-driven with keenness to learn & progress
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of Oracle Financial System a plus.
